WASHINGTON: US President Donald Trump told Fox News that he wants to see a greater presence of the US businesses in China.
“They [US businesses] do business in China, most of them do business here, but probably like to do more, and I’d like to see them do more. That would be good for trade and trade balance, and they were fantastic,” Trump said, according to Sputnik/RIA Novosti.
Trump is paying a state visit to China from May 13-15. The visit marks the first trip of a US leader to China in nine years. On Thursday, the two leaders held talks, and on Friday, a working lunch is scheduled.
Trump also said that China is ready to invest hundreds of billions of dollars in US companies.
“China’s going to invest hundreds of billions of dollars with those people that were in that room today, that’s where they came,” Trump said in the interview with Fox News, according to Sputnik/RIA Novosti. -BERNAMA-SPUTNIK/RIA NOVOSTI
