KUCHING: A total of 62 players from 31 teams have entered the UnifiXKASBA 2026 Pickleball Tournament (PPUK), held at the Kampung Samariang Batu KASBA Pickleball Court today (May 16).
The tournament, which began at 8 am and is scheduled to continue until 6 pm, is organised as part of efforts to promote a healthy lifestyle and encourage active community participation in sports activities.
Jointly organised by the Kampung Samariang Batu Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK) and Unifi Sarawak, the programme also highlighted strong collaboration between the local community and corporate strategic partners.

Apart from promoting sportsmanship, the tournament served as a platform to strengthen ties among residents, organisers and visitors through sports activities, networking sessions and various side events held throughout the programme.
Registration counters, Unifi product and service promotion booths, as well as complaint counters were also set up at the venue.
Village residents took the opportunity to operate stalls offering a variety of food, beverages and local products, adding to the vibrant community atmosphere during the event.
PPUK also received support from strategic partners and sponsors, including JKKK Dewan KASBA, Patimah Mail Catering, Orka.Kava, Borneo Ice Cream and the Ghostspeed Pickleball Team.
The programme is expected to continue in the future as a community sports platform that not only strengthens ties between TM and the community, but also promotes an active and healthy lifestyle among society.
For the record, the first place went to Mohamad Afiq Aqmar and Nik Izz Harith Nik Yoehan, who took home RM500 and medals.
The second place was secured by Emir Effendy and Muhd Nur Hidayat Zawawi, who received RM300 and medals.
Meanwhile, the third place went to Nakhia Brahim and Sufyan Morni, who brought home RM200 and medals.
