KUCHING: The departure of the Yang di-Pertua Negeri Sarawak, Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar, and his wife, Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi, together with their entourage to the holy land to perform the haj pilgrimage, is a deeply significant journey as servants of Allah.

Senior Private Secretary, Datuk Seri Syed Hamzah Syed Paie, said the pilgrimage is not merely about becoming guests of Allah, but also a spiritual journey of great value in the eyes of Allah SWT.

“In this regard, I would like to take this opportunity, on behalf of the entire entourage, to humbly seek forgiveness and apologise should there have been any shortcomings, mistakes or unintended offences throughout the course of carrying out our duties and responsibilities.

“We pray that Wan Junaidi and the entourage will be granted safety throughout their journey and return home in peace, and be blessed with a mabrur haj,” he said.

He said this while delivering his speech during the ‘Doa Selamat’ ceremony held in conjunction with the departure of Wan Junaidi, Fauziah and their entourage for the haj pilgrimage at Raia Hotel and the convention centre here yesterday (May 21).

Meanwhile, he also conveyed the entourage’s deepest appreciation for the unwavering support and assistance in ensuring all arrangements for the departure proceeded smoothly and successfully.

“Throughout the process and coordination of this departure, the Astana Sarawak Administration Office is deeply grateful to Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg for his unwavering support.

“He also provided the necessary guidance and direction to ensure that all approvals and instructions by Wan Junaidi regarding the haj departure arrangements could be carried out smoothly, systematically and efficiently,” he said.

Syed Hamzah also expressed appreciation to State Secretary Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki and other members of the state leadership for their concern and strong commitment towards matters involving Wan Junaidi.

“We pray that this journey will be blessed, eased and rewarded with a mabrur haj,” he said.
