MUKAH: Four people were injured in a road accident today involving a multipurpose vehicle and a sedan along Jalan Mukah-Balingian near Kingwood Resort.
According to Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), they received an emergency call regarding the incident at 11:45 am.
A team from Mukah fire station was dispatched to the scene located about 15 kilometres from the station.
“Upon arrival at 12:00 pm, firefighters found that the accident involved two vehicles, a Perodua Alza carrying a man and a woman and a Proton Saga carrying two women. All four victims sustained injuries in the accident,” it said in the statement today.


However, all victims had been extricated by personnel from the Malaysia Civil Defence Force and transported to hospital by ambulance before the fire and rescue team arrived at the scene.
Firefighters subsequently carried out monitoring work, cleared debris from the road, and assisted the police in moving the vehicles to the roadside to ensure the situation was safe and under control.
The operations were brought under control at 12:10 pm.
