KUCHING: A raid on a massage parlour along Jalan Tun Jugah on Saturday (May 30) led to the arrest of five foreign women after authorities uncovered a series of suspected immigration offences.
The operation, carried out by the Sarawak D7 Branch and the Labour Department, targeted a premises suspected of operating without a valid business licence.
Kuching police chief ACP Alexson Naga Chabu said the women, aged between 23 and 38, were believed to be working as masseuses at the premises.
“Further checks found that two of them did not possess valid work permits or Temporary Employment Visit Passes (PLKS).

“While the remaining three failed to produce any valid travel documents.
“Police also seized two passports, a packet of condoms and RM484 in cash during the operation,” he said.
The case is being investigated under Section 6(1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63 for entering or remaining in Malaysia without valid travel documents, and Regulation 39(b) of the Immigration Regulations 1963 for breaching the conditions of passes or permits issued by the authorities.
Alexson said police would continue to step up enforcement operations against premises employing undocumented foreign nationals and businesses found operating in violation of existing laws.
