MUKAH: An elderly man sustained minor injuries after the vehicle he was travelling in collided with another car at Simpang 4, Kampung Tellian Tengah here today.
The accident happened at around 10am and involved a Proton Saga FLX and a Perodua Bezza.
While the occupants of the Proton Saga and the driver of the Bezza escaped unharmed, the Bezza’s elderly passenger was injured and became trapped in the front passenger seat.
Firefighters from Mukah station were dispatched to the scene and used hydraulic rescue tool to extricate the victim from the vehicle.
He was later handed over to paramedics for further treatment.
They also cleared accident debris from the road to ensure the area was safe for motorists.
Once the situation was deemed safe, the team ended the operation at 10.38am.
