SIBURAN: An unattended cooking pot triggered a fire scare at a house in the RPR Batu Gong residential area here on today (June 4).
However, quick action by the occupants prevented the incident from escalating.
No injuries or casualties were reported in the incident at around 12.15 pm.
Firefighters from Siburan station were dispatched to the scene, about 11km away, after receiving an emergency call reporting smoke coming from the building.
Upon arrival, the team confirmed that the fire had been caused by food left cooking unattended.
The occupants had successfully extinguished the flames before firefighters reach the house, preventing further damage.
The team only conducted safety checks and monitored the area to ensure there was no danger of the fire reigniting.
Once the situation was deemed safe, the operation concluded at 12.55 pm.
