LUNDU: Two men sustained injuries after the car they were travelling in was involved in a self-accident near Kampung Stungkor along Jalan Bau-Lundu this afternoon.
The incident, involving a Toyota Vios, was reported to the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) at 2:23 pm.
A team from the Lundu fire station was dispatched to the scene, located about 33 kilometres from the station.
“Upon arrival at 2:57 pm, firefighters found that both victims had already been rescued from the vehicle by members of the public before the emergency responders arrived.
“The victims were conscious and not trapped in the vehicle, and firefighters assisted in transferring the victims using a stretcher to the roadside and provided initial treatment while awaiting the arrival of medical personnel.
“The driver suffered minor injuries to his left ribs, while the passenger sustained injuries to his neck and back,” it said.
After medical personnel arrived, both victims were transported to Lundu Hospital by ambulances.
The operations were brought under control at 3:14 pm and concluded three minutes later.
