SEREMBAN, Negeri Sembilan: The presence of police personnel at the entrance to the official residence of the Tunku Besar of Tampin today was aimed at ensuring public safety and order, as well as compliance with the law, without favouring any party.

Negeri Sembilan Police Chief, Datuk Ahmad Alzafny Ahmad, said police received information about the presence of members of the public in the area, prompting the Tampin district police chief to deploy officers to maintain security and monitor the situation.

He said the move was aimed at securing public order, safety and the smooth management of the situation in the area.

“Action was taken in line with the functions and responsibilities of the police under Section 21 of the Police Act 1967 to maintain peace, safety and public order, and to prevent any unlawful acts,” he said in a statement.

Meanwhile, Ahmad Alzafny said police had also received a copy of the court order related to the matter and respected the ongoing legal process, while carrying out their duties in keeping with the law.

“Members of the public are advised to remain calm, obey the law, and avoid any actions that could disrupt public order or interfere with ongoing processes,” he said.

He said the security situation at the location was under control, and police would continue to monitor developments and take appropriate action to maintain public peace and safety. – BERNAMA
