BAU: A food delivery rider was among two men arrested after they tested positive for illicit substance during a drug screening late last night (Jun 7).
The 22-year-old rider and a 30-year-old contract worker were screened by the Narcotics Criminal Investigation Division (NCID) at around 11.15pm.
Bau police chief Supt Mohd Haide A. Rahman said initial urine tests found both men positive for amphetamine and methamphetamine.
“Investigations found that the pair had allegedly consumed syabu a day before their arrest.
“The food delivery rider has no prior records, while the contract worker has a prior record under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952,” he said.
Both were subsequently arrested under the same provision for drug consumption.
Mohd Haide said the suspects are being held at Bau police lock-up pending further investigation.
