ENGKILILI: Two local men were arrested near here yesterday (Jun 9) after police allegedly found suspected methamphetamine in their possession and both later tested positive for drugs.
The suspects, aged 27 and 47, were picked up by the Lubok Antu police task force during an operation at KM30, Jalan Lama Sri Aman-Sarikei at about noon.
During an inspection, one of the suspects handed over four plastic packets to the team, which contained crystalline substances believed to be methamphetamine with an estimated weight of 3.89g.
Urine screening tests conducted on both men also returned positive results for amphetamine and methamphetamine.
Lubok Antu police said one of the suspects has a prior record related to drug offences.
Also seized was a sedan car and its key believed to have been used by the suspects.
The case is being investigated under Sections 12(2) and 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
