KUCHING: Sri Aman Hospital will organise World Blood Donor Day 2026 to honour blood donors and promote greater public participation in blood donation on June 14.
Organised by the Sri Aman Hospital Department of Pathology and Blood Bank Unit in collaboration with the Malaysian Red Crescent, the programme carried the theme ‘A Drop of Blood, A Million Hopes for the Sri Aman Community’.
The blood donation programme will be held from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm at Dewan Suarah Sri Aman, with Lingga assemblywoman, Dayang Noorazah Awang Sohor, attending as the guest of honour.
It is being held to recognise the invaluable contributions of blood donors who have helped save countless lives across the division, while strengthening public awareness and encouraging more people to donate blood.
The programme aims to collect 150 pints of blood to help maintain adequate blood stocks at Sri Aman Hospital, where demand remains high for emergencies, surgeries and chronic patient treatment.
In conjunction with the blood donation drive, a range of supporting activities will also be held, including free health screenings, exhibitions, a lucky draw, and a colouring contest for children, aged 12 and below.
