BAU: Two local men were arrested for alleged involvement in drug abuse in Kampung Bogag.
Bau district police chief Supt Mohd Haide A Rahman said a team from the Narcotics Crime Investigation Department (NCID) picked up the two men on Jun 11 at around 2pm.
“The NCID team arrested the suspects, age 23 and 28, along a road in a palm oil plantation.
“Upon further inspection on one of the suspects, the team found a translucent packet believed to be crystal meth.
“The suspect has been arrested under Section 12(2) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952,” he said.
On the second suspect, the team found 11 straw tubes and eight small packets, believed to contain crystal meth.
Mohd said the suspect was arrested under Section 39A(1) of the same Act.
Both suspects tested positive for drugs through urine screening test, and the case is being investigated under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
