KUCHING: Brooke Holding is widening its role in Sarawak’s marine infrastructure, oil and gas and energy transition sectors. The Sarawak-based engineering, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning company signed two memoranda of understanding with industry partners during the Asia Pacific Green Hydrogen Conference and Exhibition 2026 in Kuching on June 10.
The first MOU was signed between Brooke Holding, CCCC Dredging Southeast Asia Sdn Bhd and Hextar Mitai Sdn Bhd.
It covers dredging, reclamation, jetty and port construction, offshore transportation and installation, offshore decommissioning, marine logistics, oil terminals, tank farms, strategic petroleum storage facilities and related marine infrastructure development.
The second MOU was signed between Brooke Holding and CNPC Chuanqing Drilling Engineering Company Limited, International Ltd (CCDC).
It covers oil and gas exploration and development, integrated oilfield services, field development solutions, drilling and completion services, production enhancement, brownfield redevelopment, CCUS, gas monetisation, facility inspection, evaluation, operation and maintenance services and other low-carbon opportunities.
Brooke Holding said the MOUs reflected its continued commitment to strengthen its role as a Sarawak based engineering and construction solutions provider supporting the state’s long-term industrial, energy and infrastructure agenda.
The company said the collaborations were intended to create a stronger platform for local participation, technical collaboration and strategic capability building in sectors important to Sarawak’s future economic growth.
“These MOUs represent Brooke Holding’s strategic intent to position itself in highervalue areas adjacent to our core EPCIC business, including marine infrastructure, offshore support services, oil and gas field development support, decommissioning, CCUS and energy transition infrastructure.
“As a Sarawak homegrown company and a state GLC, Brooke Holding has a responsibility to continuously build capability, develop local participation and support the state’s ambition to become a competitive regional hub for energy, engineering, marine infrastructure and sustainable industrial development,” said a Brooke Holding representative.
The company said the collaborations were timely given Sarawak’s growing momentum in gas development, hydrogen, CCUS, low-carbon industries, portrelated infrastructure and regional industrial connectivity.
It said the MOUs would serve as platforms to assess commercially viable opportunities, subject to technical and commercial due diligence, internal approvals, regulatory requirements and definitive agreements where applicable.
The signing ceremony was held during a luncheon session with industry players and speakers organised by the Ministry of Energy and Environmental Sustainability Sarawak.
It was witnessed by Deputy Minister of Energy and Environmental Sustainability Sarawak Datuk Dr Hazland Abang Hipni, Brooke Holding directors, representatives of the respective MOU partners and invited industry stakeholders.
The MOUs were signed by Dr Nuzul Adzwan Sulaiman on behalf of Brooke Holding, as representative of Lubau Genam, with representatives from the respective strategic partners.
Brooke Holding said it would continue working with strategic partners, government agencies, clients and industry stakeholders to support Sarawak’s economic transformation, energy transition agenda and local industrial capability development.
