KUCHING: Sarawak’s tennis squad will receive a timely boost ahead of the Malaysia Games (SUKMA) 2026 with Nathanielle Ann Lee returning from a successful collegiate campaign in the United States.

According to a press release, the Kuching-born player recently reached the women’s doubles semi-finals at the NJCAA Division I Women’s Tennis Championship while representing Cowley College in Kansas.

The achievement placed Nathanielle among the top four doubles teams in the nation and helped Cowley College finish runners-up in the overall team standings.

Her strong showing comes as she prepares to represent Sarawak at SUKMA 2026 in Selangor, where she is expected to play a key role in the state’s women’s campaign.

A product of the Persatuan Tenis Bumiputra Sarawak (PTBS) Junior Development Programme, Nathanielle developed her game under coach Norhairi Khaider before pursuing her studies and tennis career in the United States.

“The championship provided valuable exposure against some of the strongest collegiate players in the country, further enhancing her competitive experience,” the press release stated.
