KUCHING: Peter Cklamovski has announced his departure as head coach of the Malaysian national football team, saying the time has come for him to pursue a new challenge.

The Australian confirmed the decision in a statement, thanking players, staff and supporters for their support throughout his tenure.

“Today, I announce my departure as Head Coach of the Malaysian National Team,” said Cklamovski.

“I would like to sincerely thank all involved for the support and now for understanding my decision that the time has come for me to take on a new challenge.”

He also paid tribute to the national team setup, describing every training session and match as part of a shared mission to make Malaysia proud.

Cklamovski expressed confidence in the future of Malaysian football, citing the passion of supporters, the talent of local players and the country’s love for the game.

“My hope is that Malaysian football continues to grow, with decisions always guided by what is best for the game, the players, and the future of the nation,” he said.

The outgoing coach ended his message by thanking Malaysians for the memories and support.

“I leave wishing nothing but success for Malaysian football.”
