KUCHING: Datuk Seri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah remembers the late Datuk Kamil Misuari as a loyal friend, a kind-hearted individual and someone whose warmth left a lasting impression on those who knew him.
Speaking to reporters after paying his last respects today (June 19), Abdul Karim said he was deeply saddened by Kamil’s passing, describing him as a close friend of more than 30 years.
He recalled the many memories they shared over the years, including travelling together on motorcycle journeys from Kuching to Kota Kinabalu.
“Kamil was a dear friend and someone I came to know well over the years. We shared many experiences together and built a friendship that lasted decades,” he said.
Abdul Karim said he had known that Kamil had been undergoing treatment for an illness, but his passing was nevertheless a great loss to family members, friends and those who had the privilege of knowing him.
Reflecting on Kamil’s character, he described him as a humble and soft-spoken man who never sought attention but was always pleasant to be around.
“He was not someone who spoke a lot, but he was friendly, sincere and kind-hearted. Those are the qualities I will always remember about him,” he said.
Abdul Karim also extended his condolences to Women, Family and Community Development Minister, Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri, and her family, and prayed that they would be granted strength and comfort during this difficult time.
