KUCHING: Violent criminals will find no safe haven in Sarawak, with police remaining committed to swiftly tracking down and arresting offenders, says Sarawak Police Commissioner Datuk Mohamad Zainal Abdullah.
His assurance comes following the recent arrest of three suspects linked to an armed robbery in Jalan Song Thian Cheok, a case he cited as an example of the force’s commitment to solving violent crimes quickly.
Sarawak Police Commissioner Datuk Mohamad Zainal Abdullah said this following the arrest of four suspects involved in the recent armed robbery at a convenience store here.
“As I mentioned earlier, the crime situation in Sarawak remains under control, and what makes me particularly pleased is that our crime-solving rate has reached 71 per cent.
“Most of the reported cases have been successfully resolved, including this robbery case,” he said when met by reporters today.
He said this is part of the Royal Malaysia Police’s (PDRM) continuous efforts in curbing crimes.
Mohamad Zainal said there is no place for criminals to commit crimes, especially violent offences such as robbery.
“We will continue taking swift and decisive action to ensure such crimes do not continue or become widespread in our peaceful, progressive and prosperous state,” he said.
