DENGKIL, Selangor: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has pledged to work even harder after a Merdeka Center survey ranked him as the most favoured political leader.

Expressing his appreciation for the rating, the Finance Minister nevertheless stressed that he cannot afford to be complacent over any recognition received and would continue striving to deliver his best for the people and the nation.

“Yes, Alhamdulillah. We always try to do our best, work harder, and not get carried away by such praises,” he told reporters after performing Friday prayers at the Jameatus Solehah Mosque here today.

On Thursday, Merdeka Centre reported that Anwar remained the country’s most favoured political leader, recording a 52 per cent approval rating.

The survey which was carried out between March 12 and April 9 this year, also found that 42 per cent of Malaysian voters continue to believe that the country is moving in the right direction despite growing international uncertainties and economic challenges.

Merdeka Center in a statement today said the percentage is unchanged from the figures recorded in December 2025 and February 2026. – BERNAMA
