SARATOK: Son of suspect arrested for allegedly stealing oil palm fruit at an estate in Roban following a police report.
Saratok district police chief DSP Mathew Manggie said a police report was lodged last Wednesday (June 24) by an auxiliary police personnel at an estate.

The complainant received a call on June 23 informing him that two men were seen loading harvested oil palm fruits into the bucket of a 4X4 pickup at the estate.
“The complainant and his colleague immediately rushed to the location and set up a blockade.
“However, the two suspects slipped through a blockade and fled the scene together with the stolen oil palm fruits,” said Mathew.
Following investigations, one of the suspects, a 30-year-old man who is believed to be the son, was arrested on June 24 at a longhouse in Saratok.
The suspect admitted to have been at the estate together with his father to steal oil palm fruits, and fled the scene.
He also said that they fled a kilometre away from the scene towards a hut and hid the oil palm fruits and the harvesting spike tool in a nearby bushes
The case has since been resolved following the arrest of one of the suspects under Section 379 of the Penal Code.
