KUCHING: Angkatan Zaman Mansang (AZAM) Sarawak has stepped up efforts to strengthen digital communication within the organisation by training 20 staff members in content creation through a workshop titled ‘CapCut 101: From Template to Masterpiece’.

In a statement released by the organisation today (June 27), the workshop, which forms part of AZAM’s push to build digital competency among its workforce, exposed participants from various departments to video editing techniques using the CapCut application, including the use of templates, visual storytelling, audio and visual editing, and the creation of more creative, professional and impactful social media content.

AZAM Sarawak chief executive officer Ali Suhaili said the ability to produce digital content was no longer just an added advantage but a necessity in ensuring the organisation’s messages reached the public effectively.

“Today, the public not only wants to read, but also wants to see and feel the impact of a programme through quality digital content.

“That is why AZAM continues to invest in developing its staff’s skills, so that every programme implemented can be properly documented and shared more effectively,” he said in the statement.

He said the initiative had contributed to growth in AZAM’s digital presence, which now has a cumulative following of more than 80,000 across Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and LinkedIn.

“The number of followers is not just a figure. It reflects public trust in the content we produce.

“The more staff who are able to create digital content, the more success stories, initiatives and development information can be shared with the public more quickly.

“This is the real value of AZAM’s investment in digital competency development,” he said.

Meanwhile, AZAM Sarawak creative digital officer and workshop trainer Miela Mohammad said content creation was now a shared responsibility rather than one borne solely by the communications team.

“AZAM’s programmes are increasing from time to time.

“Therefore, every staff member needs basic content creation skills relevant to their respective scope of work,” she said.

She said that every employee now plays the role of an organisation storyteller, as they are not only carrying out programmes, but are also responsible for recording, documenting and sharing the impact of each initiative with the public.

“This approach allows more content to be published faster, more consistently and in line with the organisation’s planning,” she said in the statement.

Throughout the workshop, participants were introduced to video editing techniques, the use of templates, visual storytelling, social media content production techniques, and best practices for producing engaging and effective videos using CapCut.
