SARATOK: Police arrested a 40-year-old local man after he tested positive for drugs during Op Tapis conducted at an oil palm plantation in Kabong yesterday (Jul 2).
Saratok police chief DSP Mathew Manggie said the operation was carried out by the district police headquarters’ Special Task Force at Ladang Sawit PORIM between 11am and 3pm.
He said the team inspected the suspect, who was believed to be a drug addict, at about 1.46pm.
“The suspect was brought to the Saratok police station for a urine screening test, which returned positive for amphetamine and methamphetamine,” he said.
The case is being investigated under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
