KUALA LUMPUR: Several Cabinet ministers extended birthday wishes to former Prime Minister, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, on his 101st birthday today.
In a Facebook post, Communications Minister, Datuk Fahmi Fadzil, prayed that Dr Mahathir be blessed with continued good health, happiness and a life filled with blessings.
“May Tun be blessed with long-lasting health, happiness and a life full of blessings. Happy 101st Birthday! What an incredible milestone!” he said.
Also extending their birthday wishes were Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Law and Institutional Reform), Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said, and Higher Education Minister, Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir.
Both ministers also prayed that Dr Mahathir would be granted good health, showered with Allah SWT’s mercy and continue to be under His blessings.
Dr Mahathir was born on July 10, 1925, in Alor Setar, Kedah, and served as Malaysia’s fourth and seventh Prime Minister, leading the country for 22 years from 1981 to 2003, before returning to office from 2018 to 2020.
His reappointment at the age of 92 also made history, as he was recognised as the world’s oldest prime minister. – BERNAMA
