KUCHING: The Sarawak Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SSPCA) is appealing to the public to give five abandoned puppies a second chance after they were found dumped outside the organisation’s shelter.
In a social media post, SSPCA said the puppies – three females and two males – were left outside the shelter on Monday (July 13).
The puppies, believed to be siblings, are estimated to be just over one month old.
“On Monday, five small puppies were dumped outside the SSPCA shelter. We had no choice but to take them into our care,” the society said.
As the puppies are still too young for adoption under SSPCA’s adoption protocol, the organisation is accepting pre-bookings from prospective adopters.
The puppies will only be released for adoption once they have completed their vaccination schedule and have been neutered, which is expected when they are about four to five months old.
Successful adopters will be contacted when the puppies are ready to go to their new homes.
“The adoption fee is RM100 per dog regardless of age or size,” the society said.
Those interested in adopting or pre-booking one of the puppies can contact SSPCA via WhatsApp at 010-225 9822 to arrange a visit to the shelter.
The organisation also urged members of the public to help spread the word so the puppies can find loving and permanent homes.
