KUCHING: The Cats are taking the show on the road, with Kuching City FC set to meet supporters across three Sarawak divisions ahead of the new season.

The club will embark on a fan engagement tour covering Miri, Bintulu and Sibu, featuring meet-and-greet sessions with fans as well as open training sessions.

Kuching City FC’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Iswandi Ali Hassan, said the squad will begin the tour in Miri on July 20 (Monday).

“The first stop will be a meet-and-greet session with fans at Lea Sports Centre (LSC), Bintang Megamall at 2:00 pm.

“This will be followed by an open training session at Miri Open Stadium, scheduled to begin at 4:30 pm,” he said when contacted recently.

After Miri, the squad will travel to Bintulu on July 22 for another fan engagement session at the BDA Synthetic Field at 3:00 pm, followed by an open training session at the same venue.

The final stop of the tour will be in Sibu on July 23, where fans will have the opportunity to meet the players at the Azman Hashim Community Sports Complex in Sibu Jaya at 3:30 pm before the team conducts its training session there.

Iswandi said the initiative was part of the club’s efforts to strengthen its relationship with supporters throughout Sarawak.

Previously, Kuching City FC’s Chairman, Datuk Fazzrudin Abdul Rahman, said the club greatly appreciates the unwavering support from fans across the state.

He said the tour served as a gesture of appreciation towards supporters while also providing them with the opportunity to get a closer look at the squad ahead of the new season.

“This is our way of saying thank you to The Cats’ supporters,” he said.
