SARATOK: A local man escaped with injuries following a two-vehicle collision at a P-turn junction near Simpang Pusa early this morning (July 26).
The crash happened at around 5.20 am, and involved a pickup truck driven by the 55-year-old victim and a bus carrying 18 individuals including the driver.
The pickup driver managed to free himself from the wreckage before emergency responders arrived at the scene.
Meanwhile, all 18 occupants in the bus escaped unharmed.
Firefighters from Saratok station were dispatched to the scene, about 30 km away, following an emergency call.
Upon arrival, they fitted the victim with a cervical collar as part of initial treatment before handing him over to paramedics for further care.
Once the situation was deemed safe and there were no further hazards, firefighters ended the operations at 6.20 am.
