KUCHING: Angkatan Zaman Mansang (AZAM) Sarawak has strengthened its commitment to youth empowerment by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Kelab Belia Iban Mansang Bawang Assan to expand leadership, skills development and community programmes across Sarawak.
AZAM chief executive officer Ali Suhaili and the club’s patron Ricky Enteri formalised the five-year partnership at the AZAM Sarawak Complex, creating a platform for both organisations to jointly implement youth-focused initiatives.
“Strategic partnerships were essential for extending AZAM’s programmes throughout Sarawak, given the state’s vast geographical landscape and diverse communities,” he said on Tuesday (Aug 4).
He said collaboration with government agencies, non-governmental organisations, educational institutions, corporate partners and community organisations would enable more people to benefit from development programmes.
He subsequently said every memorandum signed represented more than a symbolic agreement, serving instead as a practical framework for combining expertise, resources and networks to deliver programmes that directly benefit youth and local communities.
Under the agreement, both organisations will jointly organise leadership training, strategic communication programmes, public speaking workshops, entrepreneurship initiatives, digital literacy courses, innovation projects, volunteer activities and community development programmes by sharing facilitators, training modules and technical expertise.
The collaboration will also provide members of Kelab Belia Iban Mansang Bawang Assan with greater access to AZAM’s development initiatives, including capacity-building courses, digital content creation, forums, seminars, workshops, career development programmes and community engagement projects.
The partnership is expected to strengthen the implementation of AZAM Young Souls (AYS), AZAM’s youth platform aimed at nurturing progressive, competitive and future-ready young leaders through leadership development, creative content, social innovation and employability programmes.
Meanwhile, Ricky welcomed the collaboration, describing it as an opportunity for young people to gain valuable training, broaden professional networks and acquire practical skills needed to meet future challenges while contributing positively to their communities.
The MoU, effective for five years, is expected to enhance strategic collaboration, strengthen human capital development and expand youth participation in supporting Sarawak’s inclusive, progressive and sustainable development agenda.
