MIRI: Three patrons of an entertainment outlet here were arrested after police allegedly discovered a drink suspected of containing MDMA during a narcotics enforcement operation on Wednesday (Aug. 5).
Officers from the Miri District Police Headquarters (IPD Miri) carried out the raid at a premises along Jalan Maju, where five people were screened.
A search of one private room led to the arrest of three customers.
Police also seized a small glass containing about 20 millilitres of juice believed to have been mixed with MDMA.
Preliminary urine screening tests found all three suspects positive for drugs.
The suspects are being investigated under Section 12(2) and Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) credited information from the public for the success of the operation and reiterated its commitment to intensifying enforcement at entertainment outlets to curb drug abuse and protect public safety.
