LUNDU: Strengthening education and unlocking young people’s potential remain key priorities for Tanjong Datu assemblyman Azizul Annuar Adenan.
He said continuous support for schools was crucial not only to improving educational quality but also to creating opportunities for students to excel in academics, sports and co-curricular activities.
“We must continue to empower education and provide our young generation with the opportunities and support they need to realise their full potential and become competitive, quality human capital,” he said when officiating at SK Temelan’s Annual Sports Meet and School Sales Day on Saturday (Aug 8).
Azizul said annual grants would continue to be channelled consistently through the Tanjong Datu Service Centre to schools and Parent-Teacher Associations (PIBG) to support activities and upgrade educational facilities.
At the event, he also announced a RM10,000 allocation for the SK Temelan’s PIBG fund to strengthen programmes and support the welfare of the school community.
Meanwhile, he said the Lundu contingent’s recent success in emerging overall champions at a district-level school sports championship proved that rural athletes had the ability to compete and achieve excellence.
He added that local children possessed considerable sporting potential and could progress to higher levels with the right opportunities, training and continuous support.
