WASHINGTON: A magnitude 5.5 earthquake struck off the coast of El Salvador on Wednesday, according to the US Geological Survey (USGS), Anadolu Ajansi reported
The quake struck 69 kilometres (42.8 miles) south-southwest of Chirilagua, USGS said.
It occurred at a depth of 56.8 kilometres (35.2 miles).
