PUTRAJAYA: GCH Retail (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd (GCH Retail) is strengthening its presence in the local retail market with the opening of Giant Destina Putrajaya, a modern supermarket offering shopping facilities, food and beverage options, as well as pharmacy and beauty services under one roof.

Strategically located with direct access to public transport networks, including the Putrajaya MRT station and KLIA Transit, the outlet caters to residents, civil servants, the workforce and the commuting community in Putrajaya.

GCH Retail’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Cheah Yong Hock, said the opening reflected the company’s commitment to continued growth while meeting evolving customer needs.

“Giant Destina Putrajaya combines the value synonymous with the Giant brand with a more modern and comprehensive shopping experience.

“With direct access to the public transport network, we hope this outlet will provide greater convenience to residents, civil servants, the workforce and the commuting community in Putrajaya,” he said in a statement today.

According to the statement, Giant continues to uphold its ‘Low Prices, Longer Lasting’ strategy by offering daily essentials, including locally sourced fresh produce and kitchen staples.

Beyond groceries, customers can enjoy a variety of food options at Uncle Jack Fried Chicken, the Nasi Campur (mixed rice) corner and Kyojin Sushi, while Mercato Café & Bakery offers coffee, freshly baked sourdough bread and a selection of pastries.

To mark the opening, Giant Destina Putrajaya is hosting the ‘Jalan Jalan Cari Jajan’ (Snack Hunt) festival from August 13 to 31, featuring a wide range of popular snacks and beverages for customers, commuters, residents and the workforce in the area.

Giant is also offering special promotions for civil servants and retirees at its Uncle Jack, Mercato Café and Kyojin Sushi outlets in conjunction with the opening.

The launch ceremony on August 13 was attended by GCH Retail’s Deputy CEO, Linda Phang; KLCC Holdings Group Commercial and Development Senior General Manager, Ikhwan Hamzah Azizan; and Public Service Department (PSD) Pension Division’s Deputy Director (Development), Pardon Munawar.
