KUCHING: Strong support from Kuching City FC (KCFC) fans will continue to motivate the players to deliver their best for Sarawak football, said KCFC Chairman Datuk Fazzrudin Abdul Rahman.

He said the overwhelming turnout at Plaza Merdeka for the launch of the club’s 2026/2027 official kit reflected the strong bond between the team and its supporters.

“I am truly touched to see such strong support from KCFC supporters. This support will inject and ignite the spirit of our players to do their best,” he said at the launching of the KCFC jersey 2026 at Atrium 1, Plaza Merdeka, today (Aug 16).

Fazzrudin said supporters had made sacrifices throughout the previous season by spending money, making time and attending matches regardless of weather conditions.

He said purchases of tickets, jerseys and other merchandise also contributed towards the club’s development and helped strengthen its squad.

“We would not have reached this stage without the strong support of our fans, strategic partners and sponsors,” he said.

Fazzrudin also expressed appreciation to Squad of Unity, Sports Capsule, Mutiara Technology, TP, Bus Asia, Cats FM and e-TRA for their continued support.

He also thanked Sarawak Sports Corporation, which owns the stadium, for supporting the club while repair works are being carried out gradually at its home ground.

“We are carrying out the stadium repairs in stages because we still need to use it as our home ground,” he said.

He also thanked Plaza Merdeka management for providing the venue, as well as TVS, Press Metal and Lea Sports Centre for their longstanding support.

Fazzrudin said the widespread support for KCFC during last season’s Malaysia Cup final demonstrated football’s ability to unite Sarawakians across the state.

He said supporters from Miri, Bintulu, Sibu, Kapit and other areas gathered at various locations to watch the final together on large screens.

“This proves that football can unite our people, and this is also a source of encouragement for our players,” he said.

Fazzrudin welcomed Affin Bank and AirBorneo as the club’s newest partners, describing them as part of the extended KCFC family.

He said the new partnerships came as KCFC prepares to make history by competing on the ASEAN and Asian stages for the first time.

“It will not be easy, but we assure our fans that we will give our best. Nothing less than the best from us,” he said.

Fazzrudin urged the players to remember the sacrifices made by supporters and repay their loyalty with maximum commitment whenever they take to the field.

He also called on fans to pray for the club’s success, stressing that KCFC represents not only Kuching but also Sarawak and Malaysia on the international stage.
