KUCHING: The life journey and contributions of Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi have been documented in ‘Mawar Astana Mekar di Jiwa’ (The Rose of Astana, Blooming in the Heart), a 267-page publication which is also available as an e-book online.
The book, written by Book Publication Coordinator Datuk Dr Jeniri Amir and Executive Editor Rohana Wahed, chronicles Fauziah’s experiences, memories and contributions to the community over the years.
More than a biographical account, the publication documents the values, experiences, sacrifices and contributions of Fauziah as a woman whose journey has become part of Sarawak’s contemporary history.
It takes readers through different stages of her life, from her early years and education to her professional career as a cabin crew member.
The book also explores her family life and subsequent role as the wife of Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar.
Beyond her personal journey, Mawar Astana Mekar di Jiwa highlights values such as resilience, simplicity, loyalty and sincerity that have shaped Fauziah in her various roles as a daughter, wife, mother and member of society.
It also explores the role of women as pillars of their families and communities, while highlighting the support, sacrifices and loyalty that often accompany a leader’s journey.
The publication was produced through the collaborative efforts of an editorial team, writers, researchers and editors to ensure that Fauziah’s story was documented with care and respect.
Members of the writing team also have experience producing publications related to Astana, including ‘Dari Rimba ke Astana’ (From the Jungle to the Astana) and 365 Days in Astana.
At its core, ‘Mawar Astana Mekar di Jiwa’ is not merely the story of one woman, but a reflection of values such as love, resilience, loyalty and sincerity.
The publication is also intended to serve as a source of inspiration for present and future generations, particularly Sarawakian women.
The book was officially launched by Women, Childhood and Community Wellbeing Minister Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah at Dewan Santapan, Sarawak Legislative Assembly (DUN) Complex here.
Also present were Sarawak Legislative Assembly Speaker Tan Sri Datuk Amar Mohamad Asfia Awang Nassar and other invited guests.
