MIRI: Firefighters rescued a kitten trapped inside the engine compartment of a car at the Emart Tudan car park in Lutong here.
The Lutong Fire and Rescue Station received the emergency call at 2.22pm, Wednesday (Aug 19) and dispatched a team at 2.23pm. The fire engine arrived at the scene at 2.35pm.
On arrival, the operation commander confirmed that a kitten was trapped in the vehicle’s engine compartment.
Firefighters assessed the situation before using specialised equipment to remove the animal. The kitten was successfully freed at 2.37pm.
The operation was completed within one minute of the rescue team beginning its intervention.
The team left the scene at 2.38pm and returned to the station at 2.58pm.
Six firefighters were involved in the operation, which covered a distance of 12km. No other agencies were involved.
The rescue was carried out by the Lutong Fire and Rescue Station’s Bravo team.
