SIMANGGANG: An 85-year-old man was reported missing from his home in Spatak Undop after his daughter returned to pick him up and found him nowhere to be seen yesterday (Aug 19).
Chee Kim Chin was last known to be at his home in Rumah Beredai, Jalan Paip, before his 62-year-old daughter arrived at around 6.30am.
After failing to locate her father at the house, she searched the surrounding area and checked with neighbours, but found no trace of him.
The search continued until the afternoon before the family, increasingly concerned about the elderly man’s whereabouts, lodged a police report and sought assistance.
Firefighters from Sri Aman station were later dispatched to the scene following a request from Sri Aman police to assist in locating Chee.
A search and rescue (SAR) operation was launched. The victim has yet to located at the time of writing.
Chee is understood to have high blood pressure and hearing difficulties.
