KUALA LUMPUR: A team from SMK Tarat has emerged among the Top 10 semi-finalists of Samsung Malaysia’s ‘Solve for Tomorrow 2026’ STEM competition.
Representing Sarawak in the Health category, Spark X Trio was selected alongside nine other teams from across the country following an evaluation of their submissions based on originality, feasibility and potential impact.
Samsung Malaysia, in collaboration with Universiti Malaya, announced the Top 10 semi-finalists advancing in the eighth edition of the national competition today.
The selected teams will now refine their concepts, develop working prototypes, and compete for a place in the Grand Finale.
They will also receive direct guidance from Samsung Malaysia and Universiti Malaya mentors, as well as participate in a Design Thinking Workshop focusing on creative problem-solving, collaboration, and solution development.
This year’s competition received submissions addressing four key themes – Environmental Sustainability, Sport and Technology, Health and Education.
Samsung Malaysia’s Head of Corporate Marketing, Agnes Wong, said the ideas submitted reflected both creativity and a strong sense of purpose among young Malaysians in addressing real-world challenges.
“Through ‘Solve for Tomorrow’, we are proud to nurture this spirit and support the next generation of changemakers,” she said.
The Top 10 teams will pitch their finalised innovations at the Grand Finale, where they will compete for Samsung products valued up to RM114,000 in total.
