NILAI: A three-year-old girl lost a gold necklace worth RM2,900 after it was snatched by a man while she was at a food festival at N9 Arena here last night.
Nilai police chief Supt Johari Yahya said police received a report on the incident at 10.28 pm after the victim, her mother and other family members had been walking through the crowded festival area.
“The victim informed her mother that a man had pulled something from her neck before she realised that her daughter’s gold necklace was missing, with losses estimated at RM2,900,” he said in a statement today.
He said police were conducting intelligence gathering and reviewing closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage from the area to identify the suspect.
The case is being investigated under Section 392 of the Penal Code.
