SARIKEI: The 100th anniversary celebration of SJK(C) Sze Lu Sarikei highlighted the school’s century-long contribution to producing generations of knowledgeable and skilled individuals who have gone on to serve society and the nation.
Deputy Minister of Plantation and Commodities Datuk Seri Huang Tiong Sii said the school had, throughout its century-long history, produced generations of students who had made their mark in education, business, medicine and public service.
He said the achievements of its alumni reflected the school’s important role in developing human capital and contributing to the advancement of society and the nation.
“Throughout its 100-year journey, SJK(C) Sze Lu has produced outstanding students who are now serving in education, business, medicine and the public service, contributing their expertise and capabilities to the nation,” he said this in his speech at the school’s 100th Anniversary Celebration held at SMK Tinggi Sarikei recently.
Huang, who is also Sarikei MP, said continued attention must be given to education development to ensure young people have opportunities to nurture their potential.
According to him, education development had always been among his priorities as the Sarikei elected representative, including efforts to secure allocations to improve school facilities and the learning environment in the area.
“Providing better educational facilities is important to ensure every child has an equal opportunity to develop their potential and achieve their aspirations,” he said.
Huang also expressed his appreciation to the Premier for his continued commitment to strengthening education and cultural development in Sarawak.
He said such efforts are in line with the Sarawak Government’s aspiration to ensure young people have access to quality education and a conducive learning environment.
In support of the school’s continued educational development, Huang contributed RM20,000 in conjunction with the school’s 100th anniversary celebration.
