KOTA SAMARAHAN: The ‘Come Discover Bumi Kenyalang 2026’ (CDBK 2026) programme has strengthened UiTM Sarawak’s commitment to empowering international networks, talent development and promoting Sarawak as a global educational and tourism destination.
Organised by UiTM Global Sarawak (UGS), the fourth edition of the programme ran from August 23, hosting 53 delegates, comprising 47 students and six accompanying officers from five higher learning institutions across Cambodia, China and Indonesia.
The closing ceremony at Dewan Jubli, UiTM Samarahan Campus, was officiated by Permanent Secretary to the Ministry of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Sarawak, Morshidi Fredrick, who represented Minister Datuk Seri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah.

UiTM Sarawak stated that CDBK 2026 goes beyond an international student mobility initiative, serving as an educational diplomacy platform connecting youth globally, expanding strategic networks, and opening avenues for collaboration in education, talent development, research, innovation and tourism.
“UiTM Sarawak remains committed to acting as a strategic partner to the Sarawak Government in supporting the state’s development agenda, particularly through the internationalisation of higher education and strengthening ties with regional and global partners,” it said in a statement today.
The participating institutions were National University of Management (Cambodia), Universitas Panca Bhakti and Universitas Trisakti (Indonesia), alongside Guangxi Minzu Normal University and Quanzhou Vocational & Technical University (China).
Themed ‘Culture, Discovery, Connection’, the initiative offered delegates cross-cultural exchange, educational activities, and visits to key local attractions, including Sumiran Eco Park, Borneo Cultures Museum, Kuching Waterfront, Jong’s Crocodile Farm, and interactive sessions such as ‘Jom Klaka Bahasa Sarawak’.
Also present at the ceremony were UiTM Sarawak’s Deputy Rector of Academic and International Affairs, Assoc. Prof. Ts Chm Dr Mohammad Isa Mohamadin, Universitas Panca Bhakti’s representative Ir Arif Parabi, Business Events Sarawak’s (BE Sarawak) representative Adrian Goh Sze Liang, and UGS Coordinator, Dr Wan Juliana Emeih Wahed.
