MIRI: A motorcyclist was killed after his motorcycle collided with a Proton Saga on the Boulevard flyover linking Lutong and central Miri early this morning.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel following the crash, which occurred at about 12.18am, according to the Fire and Rescue Department.
Firefighters from the Miri Sentral Fire and Rescue Station arrived at the scene at about 12.26am and found the motorcycle and Proton Saga involved in the collision.
The driver of the Proton Saga sustained minor injuries but was not trapped in the vehicle. He was treated by medical personnel at the scene.
Firefighters instead cleared spilled oil and debris from the roadway to make the area safe.
The operation ended at 12.48am.
Three police personnel and three medical personnel were also involved in the response.
Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision.
