SELANGOR: Sarawak signed off from Para SUKMA Selangor 2026 in third place overall after amassing 138 medals, including 52 golds.
The Sarawak contingent also collected 32 silver and 54 bronze medals to complete their campaign at the 22nd edition of the Games.
Hosts Selangor emerged overall champions with 93 gold, 55 silver and 52 bronze medals, while Sabah finished second with 69 gold, 51 silver and 45 bronze.
For Sarawak, para athletics was the biggest contributor with 58 medals, comprising 20 gold, 15 silver and 23 bronze.
The para swimming squad followed with 25 medals, including 10 gold, five silver and 10 bronze, while para tenpin bowling contributed 16 medals: six gold, four silver and six bronze.
Para lawn bowls also played a significant role with 10 medals, comprising five gold, two silver and three bronze, while para powerlifting delivered eight medals through five gold, one silver and two bronze.
The boccia squad contributed two gold and three silver medals, while para table tennis added one gold and three bronze.
The para badminton team completed their campaign with three gold medals, while para chess contributed one silver and five bronze.
Para archery added one silver and two bronze medals to Sarawak’s overall tally.
A total of 10 sports were contested at Para SUKMA Selangor 2026, involving 1,333 para athletes competing in 326 medal events.
The closing ceremony was held last night (Sept 10) at the Dewan Agong Tuanku Canselor (DATC), Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Shah Alam, with the Sarawak contingent led Deputy Minister for Women, Children and Community Wellbeing Development and Chef de Mission, Datuk Dr Mohammad Razi Sitam.
Kelantan will host the next edition of SUKMA and Para SUKMA in 2028.
