KUCHING: Manufacturers from Sarawak, China and Bangladesh will converge in Kuching next month as the Sarawak Trade Fair (STF) 2026 brings businesses together to explore new markets and cross-border partnerships.
The fair, scheduled for Oct 2 to 4 at the Ang Cheng Ho Sports and Community Hall in Batu Kawah, will give local companies an opportunity to showcase their capabilities while building commercial networks with international participants.
Organised by the Sarawak Manufacturers’ Association (SMA), the fair will provide local companies with a platform to showcase their capabilities, establish commercial networks and explore potential collaborations.
SMA secretary-general and organising chairman Stephen Ang Teck Chai said the participation of businesses from different industries and markets would broaden opportunities for local industry players.
“This year’s fair brings together businesses from different industries and markets, giving visitors an opportunity to discover new products and services while providing local businesses with opportunities to build connections and explore potential partnerships,” he said in a statement yesterday (Sept 11).
Exhibitors will represent the food and beverage, automotive, banking, transportation, machinery, construction, telecommunications, insurance and agro-farming sectors.
Other participating industries include steel, aluminium and woodworks, tiles and flooring, plasticware, air compressor systems, as well as design and business solutions.
The fair will also feature demonstrations of robotic and electro-pneumatic systems, exposing visitors and students to technologies used in modern industrial operations.
Ang said STF 2026 was intended to serve not only as a trade platform but also as an avenue for the public to learn about products, services and technological solutions available in the market.
“We want businesses to showcase their products and capabilities, while the public can discover new offerings and participate in the activities,” he said.
The programme will include an artificial intelligence robot class, food demonstrations, a sushi-making class, chess competition, Big Eater Challenge and lucky draws.
Held in conjunction with the Padawan Discovery Festival 2026, STF 2026 is supported by the Ministry of International Trade, Industry and Investment Sarawak (MINTRED), Padawan Municipal Council (MPP), Business Events Sarawak and SOCOE.
