KUCHING: Visitors to the ‘Sarawakku Sayang’ (SKS) programme in Betong have been advised to take health precautions as haze continues to affect the division.
Betong Member of Parliament, Datuk Dr Richard Rapu, said the current weather and haze conditions should be taken into consideration ahead of the three-day programme at the Betong Sports Complex from September 25 to 27.
“Let us pray that the weather improves over these three days and take care of our health. Those who are unwell should wear masks so that the SKS programme from September 25 to 27 can proceed smoothly and everyone can make use of the opportunities provided,” he said.
He said this during an appearance on the Sarawak Public Communication Unit’s (UKAS) ‘Juh Randau’ programme here today.
The Betong edition is scheduled to proceed as planned, with activities lined up from morning until night throughout the three days.
The haze has raised concerns over the programme after the earlier SKS edition in Mukah was postponed due to air quality conditions.
Any changes to the Betong programme due to weather or haze conditions will be announced by the organisers.
