KUCHING: Two individuals escaped with minor injuries following a four-vehicle road accident along Jalan Lapangan Terbang near RH Plaza here.
Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (BOMBA) said an emergency call regarding the incident was received at 3:00 pm.
Firefighters from the Tabuan Jaya fire station, along with a fire rescue tender and an EMRS unit from Batu Lintang fire station, were dispatched to the scene located about eight kilometres away.
“Upon arrival at 3:09 pm, the team found that the accident involved four different vehicles – two pickup trucks, a van and a compact SUV.
“There were no victims trapped inside any of the vehicles. However, two victims involved sustained only minor injuries and were able to walk unassisted,” said a BOMBA statement.
Firefighters proceeded to perform clean-up operations to clear an oil spill off the road surface using a hose line connected to the fire appliance’s water tank to prevent further hazards.
The operations were brought under control at 3:34 pm and officially concluded at 3:43 pm after the area was secured.
