KUCHING: A couple with past drug-related convictions was arrested together in a room for the possession of drugs.
The male suspect from Taman Mei Lee, Stakan has been detained 14 times and the woman from Jalan Kuap, Mile 10 was detained eight times.
Sarawak Narcotics CID chief Supt Sahar Abdul Latif said acting on information gathered, his team raided a rented room at Jalan King Phin and detained the couple.
During the raid, police found 13 packages containing crystal chunks suspected to be syabu.
The two suspects were detained under Section 39A (2) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 and brought to Padawan station for further investigation.
Urine test results showed that both tested positive for drugs and will be investigated under Section 15 (1) (a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
