KUCHING: Domestic and Consumer Affairs Deputy Minister Chong Chieng Jen has been asked to reveal the eight local F&B manufacturers that had been issued with AP (approved permit) to import sugar to the state.
The call was made by political secretary to the chief minister Tan Kai (pic).
“Chong should also disclose the ministry’s selection criteria and approval process.
“Let the public be aware of the criteria for the selection of the eight companies,” he added in response to Chong’s remark on the approval of AP to the companies concerned a few days ago.
Tan said, “In the past, DAP was fond of criticising the government of abusing the import AP by giving them to their cronies. So, now Chong has to walk the talk and openly announce how the selection process was done.”
