MARUDI: SMK Marudi held a pre-Gawai dinner on for its 780 boarders on Friday.

Chief Warden of the hostel, Rayner Robert said the school is unique because the boarders make up of the various races in the state.

Besides there are also 80 teachers from Peninsular Malaysia in the school which allow them to truly enjoy the Gawai festivities.

“It not only reflects acceptance in our school but also peace and harmony,” he said.

Many activities were held during the dinner such as singing competition, ‘poco-poco’ dance, ‘Kumang and Keling Gawai’ competitions.
