KAPIT: Water Supply Assistant Minister Datuk Liwan Lagang yesterday approved RM60,000 for repairing Rumah Seking, a longhouse at Nanga Merit.
The 44-door longhouse was hit by strong winds last Saturday causing severe damage to the ceiling and other structures.
On his part, Hulu Rajang MP Datuk Wilson Ugak Kumbong approved an allocation of RM10,000 for the same purpose, while Kapit Social Welfare Department also approved RM61,600.
The department had also sent immediate food relief to the families.
Liwan was accompanied by Kapit District Officer Cerisologo.
