KUCHING: August was a fruitful month for narcotics police here as they arrested 910 individuals for various drug-related offences.
Sarawak Narcotics Crime Investigation Department (NCID) head Supt Hasnir Abdul Hamid said 41 were caught for peddling drugs, 217 for possession, 598 for consumption and 54 under the Special Prevention Measures Act 1985. The 54 are aged between 30 and 45.
From January to August, properties worth over RM3mil bought using drug money had been seized under the Prohibition of Property Act 1988.
