SRI AMAN: Road users in Sri Aman are advised to practise a good attitude and to be responsible when driving their vehicles during this Hari Raya.
Sri Aman District Police chief, DSP Haji Othman Sulaiman said the good attitude included obeying the law and refraining from doing anything that would distract them or other road users.
With the construction of the Pan Borneo Highway project in several areas in Sarawak, he urged motorists to be patient while on the road and abide by traffic rules and regulations.
“During this Ops Selamat 2017 we will be focusing on two accident prone areas, namely Pais (Betong) and Melugu.
“To enhance the effectiveness of Ops Selamat, we will also be installing speed trap cameras at several locations in Sri Aman,” he told reporters after presenting Hari Raya goodies to his men at Sri Aman District Police Headquarters yesterday.
Othman also said awareness about house break-ins was still relative low among the residents here as only one family had sought help from the police to keep an eye on their residence during their absence.
“I urge those who will vacate their homes during the Hari Raya holidays to notify the police by filling up the ‘Balik Kampung’ form at IPD Sri Aman,” he said.
